Explore the edible and medicinal plants of the tallgrass prairie with Dr. Kelly Kindscher. FREE and open to all ages.
On September 14 you can play on one of our beautiful conserved lands and help preserve more woodlands, stream banks, and wildlife habitat. All levels are encouraged to participate in the 2019 Conservation Classic Disc Golf Tournament to support the Kansas Land Trust. This event will be held at the Thornfield Disc Golf Course near Stilwell, Kansas. This is the only private course of this kind in the Kansas City area. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.,followed by lunch and awards at 12:30.

Join us for a visit to this rustic Jefferson County property preserved by KLT. This land is accessible for seasonal hiking and hunting only by permission from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism. We will explore and observe the rocky edge of Buck Creek with its exposed cliff face.
An annual favorite, the Akin Prairie Wildflower Walk takes place on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. June 2 is also our National Prairie Day. Dr. Kelly Kindscher, a KLT founder and author of Edible Wild Plants of the Prairie and Medicinal Plants of the Prairie, will lead the walk.
