In Memory & In Honor Contributions

Friends and family often with to make contributions “in memory”of a loved one that has passed away or "in honor" of a living person. The Kansas Land Trust recognizes such gifts by sending a handwritten card and naming the person being memorialized or honored in our quarterly Stewardship Notes.

Create a "family legacy" by including the Kansas Land Trust in your own estate planning.  Ensure that the next generations can enjoy a rich, natural landscape like you see today. A planned gift to KLT will reduce the tax burden for your heirs and, after taxes, probably will not reduce the amount they eventually receive, had you not made this charitable contribution. Simply incorporate something like the following in your estate planning document (although always consult with your own attorney):

I give _____ (specific dollar amount, financial instrument, or property) to the Kansas Land Trust, located in Lawrence, Kansas, an IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (#48-1090912) and Kansas non-profit corporation, for the purpose of protecting and preserving Kansas lands of ecological, agricultural, scenic, historic, or recreational significance.

KLT is grateful to all our supporters for helping us pursue our mission.
Future generations, facing a world in which natural resources are uncertain, will benefit from KLT's work more than we can now imagine. Thank you for placing your trust in us.
